de-clutter your closet

I never realized how much STUFF was in my closet. I'm getting ready to head back to school for the year so I have to decide what clothing goes and what stays. But then I thought, if it's not coming with me, how important is it? Do I REALLY need to keep that argyle sweater that I have not worn in over a year? What about that Ralf Lauren polo that I wore maybe once?
Well you never know, maybe if... NO. STOP. Here's my rule: if you haven't worn it in a year, it goes. Leave more room for incoming things. And you might actually be able to find something next time you are rummaging through for that blazer you KNOW is in there.
You could even turn a profit by taking it to a thrift store that gives cash for gently used clothing.
Yes, it's hard to let go, but you must be strong! Because I'm fairly certain that those puke brown corduroy overalls in the back of your closet will not be coming back in style...ever.
